Eye of Horus - Nothing escapes the eye mug By HightonRidley

The Eye of Horus personified in the goddess Wadjet is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and royal power. Wadjet was known to the Greeks and Romans as 'uraeus' from the Egyptian 'iaret' meaning 'risen one' from the image of a cobra rising up in protection.
Funerary amulets were often made in the shape of the Eye of Horus to protect the king in the afterlife and to ward off evil. Ancient Egyptian and Near Eastern sailors would frequently paint the symbol on the bow of their vessel to ensure safe sea travel.
This would make a great gift for people that love mythology and bright colors in general. The text on the mug can be customized if desired. Click on the image to be taken to the product page where you can personalize this mug.
